Titan

United States1964 to 2005

Titan grows from an American intercontinental ballistic missile into the heavy lifter of the Cold War. The Titan II carries the Gemini crews, and the Titan III and Titan IV, with huge solid boosters, launch the largest reconnaissance and early-warning satellites as well as NASA's Viking landers, both Voyagers and Cassini. The last Titan flies in 2005.
