Molniya 8K78Baikonur Cosmodrome, Republic of Kazakhstan
Drawing of the Molniya 8K78 for Luna-5

Luna 5 (Ye-6 No.10), a Soviet soft-landing lunar probe. Molniya 8K78 from Baikonur LC-1/5 launched it toward the Moon on 9 May 1965, but a mid-course spin and engine-firing failure left it unable to brake; it hard-impacted the lunar surface on 12 May.
