LES-1 (Lincoln Experimental Satellite 1), an MIT Lincoln Laboratory military communications experiment with an X-band transponder. Titan IIIA from Cape Canaveral LC-20 lofted it on 11 February 1965, but a miswired kick motor left it stuck in a near-circular medium-Earth orbit instead of the planned elliptical path.
