NOTS EV1 Pilot

Project Pilot, nicknamed NOTSNIK, is a US Navy attempt to reach orbit with a tiny five-stage rocket fired from an F4D Skyray fighter. All six launches, in July and August 1958, fail, and none is confirmed to have reached orbit.
