Carried South Korea's first geostationary satellite, Koreasat 1 (Mugunghwa 1), from Cape Canaveral. A solid booster failed to jettison from the first stage, leaving the satellite about 5,000 km short of its planned transfer-orbit apogee; onboard fuel reserves made up the deficit, cutting its expected life from 12 to roughly 4.5 years.
