The maiden flight of the Delta II rocket carried GPS II-1 (USA-35) into medium Earth orbit from Cape Canaveral, the first of the operational Block II GPS satellites. Between 1989 and 1990 the Delta II 6925 configuration launched nine Block II GPS satellites in all.
