Molniya-3-1 (11L), the first Soviet Molniya-3 civilian C-band communications satellite on a highly elliptical 12-hour orbit for high-latitude coverage. Molniya-M (8K78M) from Plesetsk Site 41/1 placed the KAUR-2 craft in Molniya orbit on 21 November 1974.
