Kosmos 171 (OGCh No.12), a Soviet Fractional Orbital Bombardment System (FOBS) test of an orbital warhead reentry vehicle. R-36O (8K69) from Baikonur lofted it on 8 August 1967; it reached orbital velocity and was deorbited after a fractional orbit toward the impact range.
