NASA Explorer 11 (S-15), the first spaceborne gamma-ray astronomy satellite, launched by Juno II from Cape Canaveral. Its telescope searched for cosmic gamma rays above 50 MeV until November 1961; the onboard tape recorder failed at launch, so only real-time data were returned.
