AMC-14 communications satellite for SES Americom launched on a Proton-M/Briz-M from Baikonur. The Briz-M upper stage cut off about two minutes early during its second burn after a gas-duct rupture, stranding the satellite in an unusable transfer orbit; it was later sold to the US government and raised to an inclined geosynchronous orbit using its own propellant.
